I'm no expert. There's just something about the earnestness of old dubbed toku that just makes it come across as... endearing, for lack of a better word. Like, all parties involved are trying really hard to be dramatic, and yet it's mucked up by unintentionally comedic guys in rubber suits portraying monsters, overacting, and long stretches of dialogue when the characters' mouths are closed. Old toku is fun and I'm just along for the ride.
Also, I would love links! I'm generally leery about joining forums and try to avoid them. Past bad history with Digimon fandom, you know.
