Happy 19th Birthday Taco-chan!

As Chika's lips press against his timidly, Takeru can hardly believe the events that led him here.

When he wraps his arms around her waist and deepens the kiss, it clicks in his mind that this is actually happening. That his friend liked him in this way, and that he felt the same.

Takeru realized that he fell in love with a girl from another dimension, and he doesn't care just how difficult making a relationship work is going to be. He knew he was going to do all he could.

When Chika pulled away from him and pouted, Takeru's heart froze for a moment, remembering that when they first met she was in Dagomon's Ocean about to be used for the evil digimon's plan...

And that it was Hikari, and not him who had saved her, both by convincing them to even go to that place and for having Nerfertimon knock Dagomon's servants away from Chika.

“What's wrong Chika-chan?” he asked. He might've not been the reason that she wasn't hurt now, but that didn't mean that he was going to let anything else bother her, not if he could help it.

The brown hair girl sighed and closed those green eyes that Takeru could look into for eternity. “I'm just thinking about what Masaru-niichan and Mama and Papa would say about this?”

Takeru pulled the girl closer and ran his fingers through her hair as she rested her head on his chest. “Don't worry about that right now. We'll manage. We've kept up a friendship these last three years since beating Dagomon and Demon, we can make this work just as easily.”

Takeru saw Chika smile, her eyes still closed. “I guess... but we don't exist in each others world. What if this goes farther than just a teenage fling?”

Takeru wanted to tell her that as far as he was concerned, it was already farther then that but he didn't say anything. Chika wasn't done making her point yet.

“What if this really works out,” Chika continued. “What if, I want to become your wife? The Holy Beasts and Yggdrasil already said they weren't going to be able to alter records easily now that the governments know about their existence.”

Takeru kissed her on the top of her head. “If we get to that point, we'll manage. But I know that I care about you. That's all that matters to me right now.”

Chika opened her eyes and looked up at him. Takeru felt like he could stare into those eyes for all eternity. “Takeru-kun... I...”

And with that Takeru felt her lips on his again, and this time Chika wasn't timid at all. She was going after him with seemingly everything that she had.

Takeru kissed her back, equally as enthusiastic. Right now this was all that mattered.

Anything else they could think of could they could deal with later.

“Puu?”

... Except that.

Takeru and Chika quickly broke apart and Takeru saw the deep blush on Chika's cheeks. And he was pretty sure that he had the same shade of red on his face.

The Puwamon looked over at them. “Puu?”

Chika giggled. “Maybe we should've waited until after we left the Village of Beginnings, shouldn't we?”

“Puu?” The Puwamon said at them, before bouncing up and down happily. “Puu!”

Takeru let out a chuckle and pulled Chika closer to him. At least they weren't making out while they were on watch for Elecmon. That would've just been embarrassing.

Or suicidal. It would depend on the digimon's mood.

Chika pulled away for a moment and scooped the Puwamon up in her arms. The baby digimon squealed happily. She flashed Takeru a smile. “Let's bring him back home, kay?” And with that, she giggled and started off back towards the center of the Village.

Takeru smiled and followed after her.

Life was perfect.
